In this high-pressure, stressful world that we live in today, they is a need to relax and let off steam, lest we all have nervous breakdowns and add to the population of the nearest mental health establishment.
There is an even greater need today than there was in years past. Every year we see the cost of living rising at an alarming rate and as a consequence it is necessary to push ourselves to the limit in order to be able to afford our first matrimonial home (in the case of a newly-married couple) or for those lucky few who have already move up from the bottom rung of the ladder, that one-bedroom cupboard in Knightsbridge or a 1992 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit.
Sport is one way of relaxing after a hard day at work and it doesn’t necessarily need to be an expensive pastime. Some will participate in a game of football with their colleagues after work, either at the local leisure centre or on the waste ground at the back of the factory. Others may take up golf and play a round or two down at the local golf club.
Many people as a way of relaxing will join an evening class. This may in some cases aid them in changing career, by taking a course in computers for example, whilst for others it is simply an interest and may end up saving them money by being able to make their own clothes or even repair and maintain their own car.

Joining a sports and leisure club or fitness club is another great way of relaxing and unwinding from the pressures of the day; it's also a fantastic way of meeting new people and socialising.
